+ How much does BitMED cost?
BitMED is provided at no-cost to the patient. Members choose how they would like to access our health services: by contributing their data anonymously or by contributing BXM tokens that can be acquired through various ways in our platform. There are no copays, insurance claims or hidden fees when using BitMED’s telehealth services.
+ Do I need Health Insurance to Utilize BitMED?
No, we don’t require health insurance or your credit card information. There are no copays, insurance claims, or fees necessary to receive medical care. While BitMED does not require health insurance for use of the site, your local laws may require you to have health insurance.
+ How can you afford not to charge for service?
We know, it sounds too good to be true. Globally, there are two models of healthcare delivery: fee-for-service or a nationalized health service.
Fee-for-service areas, like the United States, charge patients directly for each service provided. This means high co-pays and big bills for patients, and physicians and hospitals are incentivized to bill aggressively.
National Health services, like in the UK, provide healthcare for every patient. This means low costs for patients and reduced utilization. However, this leads to long queues and delays in care. BitMED has created an entirely new healthcare delivery model. We incentivize patient engagement to help you live your healthiest life. We learn about you, treat you, understand your health story and goals, share the best content with you, and empower you to share your experiences on our platform. BitMED helps you monetize your anonymized data and to generate the revenues that we share in your digital wallet and to fund our business.
+ What are my payment options?
BitMED does not collect any payment information from you. All services are at no cost. If you are asked by a provider or solicited for payment information from BitMED, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
+ How does it work?
To gain access to BitMED's services, you must be invited and provided a signup code. You may request an access code here.
After you have an access code, you may create an account and access BitMED's telehealth services, enjoy member's only content, and participate in our communities.
You will be given a digital wallet which will contain access to earned tokens that you may use use when taking advantage of certain features of BitMED. You will receive tokens when performing certain actions on the platform.
+ How do I sign up?
Currently BitMED is accepting patients off of our waiting list. For an invite, please go to www.bitmed.io. All you need is an active internet connection along with a phone number and email address.
+ How are you different from other doctors or telemedicine services?
We don’t believe in competing with your personal physicians. Instead, we aim to educate, support, and empower you to maximize results from your existing healthcare provider’s care.
Our no-cost 24/7 access to telehealth services and unlimited health engagement provides a higher level of service than is widely available.
All other telemedicine providers are tied to the “fee-for-service” model. They charge your per encounter, just like a typical doctor’s office visit would. BitMED is different. We want you to speak with our physicians anytime you have questions and concerns and we want you to engage with our platform as much as possible, without charging you a fee. This allows you to confidently take control of your health.
+ Are BitMED providers "real" doctors?
Yes, BitMED members only speak to U.S. board-certified providers. BitMED members will always speak with BitMED providers who have been approved by our in-house medical team. Click here for more information on our providers.
+ Can I use BitMED for my family?
Absolutely! Please sign up your mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, brothers, sisters, and all your friends. BitMED is no cost for them as well.
+ How long will it take for a physician to respond to my request?
We do our best to respond to patients within 10 minutes of inquiry. At times, this may be longer.
Treatment and Prescriptions
+ What are some common conditions BitMED treats?
BitMED can educate, empower, and support our patients on any non-emergency illnesses. We provide treatment for simple conditions like sinus infections, urinary tract infections, allergies, and viral infections, cold and flu symptoms, and many other non-emergency illnesses. Providers can also support in discharge planning, wound care, and necessary health maintenance between appointments with your regular provider. + Can I get a prescription through BitMED?
Our doctors are able to write prescriptions, but we cannot guarantee a prescription will be written for you. Our providers use their medical expertise to determine if a prescription is needed and will take the appropriate course of action. BitMED must also abide by your local rules and regulations regarding telehealth prescribing. BitMED providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by the DEA, non-therapeutic, and/or certain other drugs which may be harmful because of their potential for abuse.
+ How are prescriptions sent to the pharmacy?
BitMED does not dispense prescription drugs. If an BitMED provider prescribes medication, it is submitted electronically or by phone to the pharmacy of your choice.
+ Can I be turned down for a pre-existing condition?
No, BitMED does not turn members away because of pre-existing conditions.
+ Can BitMED handle my emergency situation?
BitMED is designed to handle non-emergent medical problems. You should NOT use BitMED if you are experiencing a medical emergency. Call 911 if you need immediate medical treatment.
+ What do I do if I feel I am in immediate danger or self-harm?
This is considered an emergency and the member should immediately dial 911 or your local emergency contact number for assistance.
+ Can I ask follow up questions after an consultation?
Yes, we encourage our members to ask questions and stay well informed of their health. Your BitMED provider can review prior treatments and help clarify questions for new concerns.
+ May I request a specific healthcare provider?
Yes, we will try to make every attempt to honor your requests. But, our providers are human and there are only so many hours in a day. We will offer you the ability to connect with the provider you want and if it is not timely enough, we connect you with another BitMED provider.
+ Can I use BitMED when I am traveling abroad?
BitMED is available globally, so wherever you are in the world, BitMED is there. Just login and message us or schedule a video visit.
+ Can I upload images to share with my provider?
It is not required to upload images or medical records to BitMED but you are free to do so. Acceptable file types are JPEG, GIF, PNG, and PDF. There are no limits to the number of photos you can upload.
+ Do I have to schedule a consultation?
You can message our providers at any time and we will do our best to respond within 5 minutes. All video visits are by appointment only and can be made at the discretion of your BitMED provider.. BitMED does not support an on-demand video option at this time.
+ What info and equipment do I need for a BitMED appointment?
To message our providers, you need internet connectivity via tablet, smartphone, or computer. For video visits, you will need to have internet connectivity and a webcam with a microphone. No other paperwork or medical records are necessary.
Data and Privacy
+ Is my electronic health record kept private? Who retains my records?
All health records are strictly confidential. We comply fully with global regulations including, but not limited to: HIPAA, FISMA, HITRUST, etc. BitMED is the first telehealth service that is utilizing blockchain technology that employs robust encryption methods to protect your personal information.
Confidentiality is very important to BitMED. All medical records are stored securely on the blockchain, and your information is never shared without your knowledge or consent.

You control your data. As a result, you may choose who to share your information with. This is made possible by our blockchain solution.
